There are a lot of special moments that I have had with my dad. Playing catch in the yard, coaching my baseball team, going fishing, watching a Husker football game either on TV or in person to just name a few. But one memory that really comes to mind is going to the Kansas City Royals deciding game 5 of the divisional series against the Houston Astros during the magical season of 2015. We were always sports fans in our house, baseball was our favorite sport and our favorite team was the Royals. The game had so much on the line, the winner moved on to the next round of the playoffs. The Royals fell behind early but with some clutch hitting and dominant pitching they clawed their way back and won the game, they went on to win the world series that year. We had a great time celebrating before the game at a tailgate spot that had former players. It was a fun atmosphere and me and my dad were able to enjoy it together. My dad is a fighter and when the doctors only gave him 4 1/2 years to live he fought and clawed his way back to live longer, just like the Royals did on that chilly October evening. I have always been proud to call him Dad!
