As I reflect on the 2019 ZERO race series season, I think back on all the moments and interactions that have filled my heart with so much joy, pride, and fuel.
Joy – because of the hundreds of survivors and families I got to hug and stand alongside during the races.
Pride – because I am so proud of the practices, race directors, teams and fundraisers for how they came together to make such a huge impact in the fight to end prostate cancer.
Fuel – because I got to see first-hand what these races mean to the survivors, patients, families, and friends. Not because of the running, but because the people at these races are a part of a bigger community of support; a family. Strangers, coming together to share their stories and unite for the ultimate goal to create generation zero. This fills me with the fuel to ensure that next year we reach even more men and their families to be a part of this family and support system that the participants, practices, and sponsors have created.
I’ve shared a handful (of the MANY) of my favorite photos of 2019. Enjoy!
