The point to point event begins at Johnson's Beach in Guerneville and takes entrants past hundreds of vineyards and dozens of wineries before it finishes up at Windsor High School in Windsor. The course is a tour of Sonoma County's beautiful wine country, passing through four different grape growing regions: the Russian River Region, the Dry Creek Valley, the Alexander Valley and Chalk HillIf you aren't one of the more than 25,000 athletes from around the world who has experienced this great event, we welcome you to join us for this 21st annual event. If you are a Vineman veteran, we look forward to seeing you again this year and appreciate that you are taking on the additional challenge of committing yourself to raising funds for prostate cancer.
Participants can either choose to fundraising $1,000 which will provide them with an entry into the race as well as a technical shirt OR they can choose to raise $2,000 which will provide them with the same benefits as those committed to raising $1,000 as well as a professional training program to follow as they train for the 2012 event.
Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of male cancer death, killing a man every 18 minutes. Yet, there is hope: 99 percent survive when it's caught early. Proceeds raised by the Team PC Endurance Team will support ZERO — The Project to End Prostate Cancer and its mission to end prostate cancer through awareness, outreach, advocacy and research. ZERO operates the Drive Against Prostate Cancer—the only national mobile testing program for the disease. Since the Drive began in 2002, we have tested more than 100,000 men and saved an estimated 11,000 lives through early detection. ZERO has also worked to infuse more than $2 billion of new federal funding for prostate cancer research to find a cure.
